In the past 7 years I have had two LG refrigerators. The first one failed after about 3 years. It needed a new part. LG no longer made the part. They did the right thing and gave me a partial credit towards the purchase of new refrigerator, so I bought another LG.After two and a half years the replacement is having problems. When the technician arrived he didn’t have to spend any time trying to figure out the problem. He said, “I think I know what the problem is because the fans in these things fail all the time.” He said he would replace the fan, but, if it wasn’t the fan it was the electronic control panel and he couldn’t know for sure until he replaced the fan. It was going to be two weeks before he could get the fan because there was a large demand for the part and LG wasn’t able to keep up. Further, none of the parts nor the labor was covered by the warranty, even though the refrigerator is not even three years old... In response to the only other reveiw of this item, this model doesn't even have the in door ice feature. I purchased this product from a local home store and have not had to deal with LG customer service because it has worked perfectly. I am sorry if you had a bad experience. I bought this smaller size because I live in an older home that has a built in spot for the refrigerator. The new larger models would not fit. LG was one of the only companies who still makes a model for apartments and other situations. Kudos for that. The ice maker in the bottom freezer works well. I love the french door style. Now I can see everthing easily and things don't tend to get "lost" anymore. For a narrow fridge, I am very pleased at the amount it holds. I really didn't know what to expect but have been favorably surprised. I have used it for 3 months and can honestly say that I can't think of anything negative to warn you of. I bought one of these. Spacious, attractive, nice and quiet. Until the compressor failed, "luckily" within a year of purchase. If you need service, call LG directly. I called my appliance dealer (who was not Plesser!) and he failed to arrange warranty service. He called me back the next day, then again failed to arrange service. Later that day, I contacted LG directly, and they told me to call the "smart diagnosis" center. The center picked up that call after a few minutes and we did a diagnostic procedure. Then they arranged a service call the following day. In theory, the serviceman should now have full knowledge of the situation, my model number, etc. But apparently the diagnostic info did not reach him. He examined it and said the compressor needed replacement, and he would order the part, it would take up to 7 days to arrive, and they would schedule service only after it arrived.
